Project Manager

Lucas Marine Construction is a growing heavy and marine construction company in South Florida, providing full-service civil and marine construction solutions. We are looking for a Project Manager to direct and manage the development, execution and performance of marine, dredge, civil, and site construction projects. This position serves as the project lead throughout the entire Project, from estimating to conclusion ensuring safety, high quality, cost control and timely completion of the job. The Project Manager will develop the estimate; set up the project budget and schedule; perform cost projections and schedule updates; and oversee the project team in the performance of the work. The candidate must have experience estimating large scale projects, knowledge of construction means and methods, and costs and engineering principles.

Other responsibilities will include: purchasing; writing subcontracts and purchase orders; subcontractor compliance; quality control; health and safety; owner interface and dispute resolution.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of accomplishment in all phases of construction project management along with sound leadership abilities including strong written and oral communication skills. This position will require frequent travel throughout the Southeast, Caribbean, and other locations based upon the project assignment. Desired candidate must be willing to work a demanding schedule and work flexible hours including nights and weekends, as required, to meet the project schedule.

Responsibilities:

o Overall management of assigned project to ensure a safe, high quality, cost effective and timely completed Project.
o Lead project team in development of project schedules; cost estimates, site logistics and management plan, QC planning and safety planning.
o Prepare estimates, schedules of values, requisitions for payment and change orders
o Develop bid strategies and estimating best practices
o Ensure project compliance with all safety and quality control requirements and standards
o Prepare, analyze, monitor, and review job cost report
o Manage project compliance with prime contract, subcontracts, and statutory requirements
o Track and update project schedule and measure performance
o Identify critical issues that may impact project schedule and costs
o Conduct periodic site audits and inspections for safety and operations.
o Manage client relations and actively participate in business development initiatives

Qualifications:

o Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
o Minimum of 5 years of Construction Project Management Experience
o Proficient with Estimating and related Technologies (Primavera, HCSS, etc.)
o Experience with Cost Control and Scheduling
o Proven experience in Managing and Directing people
o Strong organizational and verbal communication skills
o Ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work
o Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
